ABOUT JAIME
Jaime has experience treating a wide array of orthopedic conditions and has experience working with patients post-operatively, following a motor vehicle accident, or those injured at work. She has a special interest in working with patients who have pelvic health concerns. Jaime has completed additional coursework in pelvic health, manual therapy, and dry needling. Her treatment style is to first, focus on empowering patients through education and exercise and secondly, aid recovery with manual therapy and/or dry needling.

Why did you become a Physiotherapist?
I always knew that I wanted to work in healthcare. I considered becoming a physician or a nurse but these careers didn’t seem to quite “fit” my interests and personality. Growing up in a small town I was very active and participated in hockey, volleyball, basketball, etc. I had plenty of injuries but not a lot of exposure to physiotherapy. It wasn’t until I was in university that I ever really saw a physiotherapist for an injury and I remember thinking “wow, this is such a cool job”.

Do you have an area of special interest?
Upon becoming pregnant in 2020 I have become quite obsessed with pelvic health.I am hoping to work more and more with people struggling with pelvic pain, incontinence, peri-menopausal, peri-partum, post c-section, etc. However, I also really enjoy treating the neck, jaw, and shoulder.

How does movement impact your life?
Keeping moving has always been important to me. I have moderate scoliosis and being active growing up prevented it from really bothering me. As an adult, I have had to seek more direct strategies to keep my back and body feeling good and flexible. I like to move daily whether it is yoga, going for walks, or lifting weights.

What does a great Physiotherapy experience look like to you?
I think a great physiotherapy experience is one where you leave the appointment with an understanding of your injury, feel comfortable with your provider, know that there is a plan in place, and feel motivated to get better.
