ABOUT KERI
Keri completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree in Gold Coast Australia. After graduating she moved to Perth where she worked at several busy private practices before making the move back home to Calgary. She has experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, pre and post-operative conditions and work injuries. Keri has a strong interest in exercise based rehabilitation and has spent the last number of years running small group physio pilates classes. Keri is able to complete a variety of traditional hands-on treatment such as joint mobilization, dry needling, and patient education.

Why did you become a Physiotherapist?
I played a lot of sport in high school and with that I had a lot of injuries. I tore my ACL when I was 16 and it was during my pre and post op physiotherapy that I started to consider this as a potential career. I loved the idea of being able to help people keep moving, get back to their hobbies and sports.

Do you have an area of special interest?
I enjoy helping people prepare for surgery through prehab and get back to what is most important to them with postoperative rehab for orthopedic conditions, especially hip, knee and ankle. I also have a special interest in antenatal exercise and helping new and expecting moms exercise and manage their aches and pains.

How does movement impact your life?
I grew up in an active family that was always going for bike rides or skiing, and signing up for fun runs. I now spend my time running after my two toddlers, walking my bulldog, Lenny, and going to yoga and pilates classes. I can’t wait to explore the city and the mountains with my two Aussie babies.

What does a great Physiotherapy experience look like to you?
A great physiotherapy experience to me starts with the patient explaining what has happened, how it is impacting them and how they hope we can help. Getting a clear diagnosis and treatment plan so both the patient and therapist can work together to reach the patients goals is very important. It always helps to have a little bit of fun too!
